Not enough evil inventions

Love is in the air in the rom-com of the month Despicable Me 2.

Unlike the first movie, Despicable Me 2 is less about the whacky inventions and more about romance and fatherhood aweeee. Oh and of course lots and lots of minions.

I’m going to take a wild guess and say that Miranda Cosgrove who plays Margo demanded a larger role in the second film. I feel like the majority of the focus of the 3 girls was on the romance that Margo was going through. Bit of a snoozer if you ask me.

Gru has lost the spark that really captivated him in the first film, being an evil genius trying to take over the world. In this film you get to see Gru be a father, a jelly maker, and a lover but not much of a fighter. What truly made the first one great was having an unconventional hero be a villain. In this one he joins an Anti-Villain League…(I can only guess that the million mom crybabies complained about their poor children rooting for a villain and how it would destroy their little lives.)

Go ahead and order some Chinese take out, throw on a blanket, and watch this nice animated rom-com with your significant other on a day you just want to have a relaxed day.
